NATIONAL CARERS WEEK 15 – 21 OCTOBER

16 October 2017

Member for Blair, Shayne Neumann MP welcomes the start of National Carers Week (15 – 21 October) acknowledging Australia’s 2.7 million carers for their ongoing contribution to the nation.

2017’s theme is ‘Carers Count’ which celebrates the contribution carers make to those they care for and to our local communities.

“Every day carers work tirelessly to care for vulnerable Australians, whether they are children with additional needs, sick or elderly family members or people living with disability.” Mr Neumann said.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to all recognise and thank the carers among us in Ipswich and the Somerset region and across the nation for the essential work they do.”

In keeping with the spirit of National Carers Week, Shayne Neumann MP would like to remind everyone that Blair Disability Links is on again soon.

Blair Disability Links connects carers, people living with disability, providers and related organisations in our local community.

It will take place at Brassall Shopping Centre, 1 December, 2017. It’s free and all are welcome.
