IPSWICH HOCKEY UPGRADE WILL ONLY GET DELIVERED UNDER A LABOR GOVERNMENT

20 February 2022

An Albanese Labor Government will provide a significant boost to the Ipswich Hockey Association to upgrade its grounds with much-needed lighting and irrigation.

Federal Member for Blair, Shayne Neumann said Labor will provide $500,000 towards the project if elected at the upcoming Federal Election.

“Last year we learnt that Ipswich Hockey had lost a grant of $500,000 for the project when Ipswich City Council returned the funds, reneging on an agreement made with the former Council Administrator,” Mr Neumann said.

“I have been fighting for Ipswich Hockey for the past few years and am delighted that an Albanese Labor Government is committed to this project.

“Hockey has a long and proud history in our region and this project will benefit hockey users everywhere, while also providing opportunities for other sports to use the fields in the off-season.

“Residents of Ipswich have a clear choice at this election and if we are to deliver this funding boost then we need to elect a Labor Government.

“Ipswich is the fastest growing city in Queensland yet the Morrison-Joyce Government has ignored the region for the past eight years. Only Labor is committed to investing in local communities like ours.

“I am determined to keep fighting for more social infrastructure across the Blair electorate.”
