COMMUNITY COMMEMORATIVE GRANTS FUNDING FOR KILCOY RSL SUB-BRANCH

06 December 2017

Member for Blair, Shayne Neumann MP, has today announced a $3,000 funding boost to the Kilcoy RSL Sub-branch under the Community Commemorative Grants category of the Saluting Their Service (STS) Commemorations Program.

The money will be used for the purchase of mannequins and a display case for Light Horse memorabilia to be housed at the Sub-branch.

“The Light Horsemen played a pivotal role in the allied forces’ war efforts and I’m pleased they will be honoured at a local RSL in this, the centenary year of the charge at Beersheba,” Mr Neumann said.

I congratulate Vice-President John Robinson and members of Kilcoy RSL, and I look forward to seeing the display once it’s completed.”

The STS Program is an initiative which aims to honour the service and sacrifice of Australia’s service men and women in wars, conflicts and peace operations, and to promote appreciation and understanding of the role played by those who served in shaping the nation.
