STATUS: EOI Closed |
DEADLINE: 16 December 2024 |
DELIVERED ON BEHALF OF: Department of Social Services |
GOVERNMENT: Federal |
SELECTION PROCESS: Expression of Interest |
Shayne Neumann MP is delighted to invite you to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Blair Volunteer Grants 2024-25 program. These grants are for organisations made up of at least 40% volunteers and the grant must be for the benefit of volunteers.
This funding round is for grants between $1,000 to $5,000 to help community organisations support their volunteers, with a total of $66,225 available for organisations across the electorate of Blair – including most of Ipswich, the entire Somerset Region, and the Karana Downs-Mt Crosby area. Every Federal Electorate has access to the same amount. I have attached the EOI form and the Grant Opportunity Guidelines that you will need to use in order to apply for this grant.
The EOI must be submitted to my office by 5pm on Monday 16 December 2024. The EOIs will then be assessed by a local community consultation committee. You may notice the Community Grants website and guidelines indicate a closing date in March 2025. This is in fact the date by which the organisations nominated to the department by the Blair community consultation committee must their online applications. Please be aware that all assessment and funding decisions will be undertaken by the department, and that a nomination by Shayne Neumann MP does not guarantee your grant application will be successful.
This year’s Volunteer Grants are different to previous rounds so please ensure that you read the guidelines thoroughly before completing an EOI. Eligibility requirements for community organisations applying for a grant remain the same, including not-for-profit status, organisation type and a minimum of 40 per cent of volunteers in the organisation, however the way grant funds can be used is now more targeted.
Community organisations will need to apply under one or more of the following categories to be eligible for funding in the 2024-25 Blair Volunteer Grants round.
- Category 1 is open for all eligible community organisations and is intended for the purchase of communication or insurance items that will benefit any of the community organisation’s volunteers.
- Category 2 is separated into two sections (A and B) and is intended for community organisations to purchase items or funding services for the main purpose of supporting children’s development and wellbeing. Not every community organisation will be eligible to apply for funding under this category, so please reach out to me if you are unsure.
There are examples of eligible expenses for both categories listed throughout the Grant Opportunity Guidelines.
If you have any questions about the Blair Volunteer Grants, please feel free to contact my office via phone or email.
