A $5.5 million student block will be constructed at the growing St Ann’s School at Redbank Plains.
Member for Blair Shayne Neumann said work on the project will be delivered with support of Australian Government funding of $4,941,000 through the Capital Grants Program.
The new block will house an administration area, four general learning areas, two multipurpose spaces, a library and learning support area. A covered lunch area, a physical education store and associated walkways will also be delivered as part of the project.
Works also include conversion of an existing space for a preparatory learning area, which will improve student educational outcomes.
“These new facilities will provide school staff, teachers and students at St Ann's School with additional modern spaces in which to work, teach and learn,” Mr Neumann said.
“The Australian Government is committed to providing all schools with appropriate funding so that all students, including those at St Ann's School, get the best possible education.”
Mr Neumann said the new facilities would benefit the students currently at St Ann's School, as well as the many students who will follow in future years.
“The teachers, staff and students at St Ann's School have built a strong and positive school community and these new facilities will further enhance our local educational opportunities,” Mr Neumann said.
“Our Government strongly believes in providing the best possible resources so that local students can realise their potential and develop the skills they need to go on to further study or to find a job.
“I congratulate St Ann's School on their successful grant application and look forward to seeing the positive impact these new facilities will have on the school community.”
