The Kilcoy RSL Sub-branch will start their year with a welcome funding boost after securing a $5,981 grant to purchase computer equipment for the production of a local newsletter.
The funding comes under the Veterans and Community Grants Program which aims to support a range of community activities that promote and assist veterans.
Federal Member for Blair Shayne Neumann MP said that he had been proud to support the Kilcoy RSL’s application.
"There is little we can do that is more important than making sure those who have served our nation receive the support and respect they need," Mr Neumann said.
"The Kilcoy Sub-Branch already does fantastic work in the local community by going above and beyond in providing support, advocacy and welfare assistance for veterans and their families.
"By securing this funding and producing a newsletter we can make sure that the good work they do reaches and benefits as many people as possible."
Mr Neumann said that the Kilcoy RSL Sub-Branch was a deserving recipient of this funding.
"The Kilcoy RSL Sub-branch is made up of some of the hardest working and most dedicated volunteers I’ve ever met who have contributed an enormous amount to the local area.
"This funding is extremely well deserved and will go a long way to looking out for the welfare of veterans living in Kilcoy."
