Member for Blair, Shayne Neumann MP, has congratulated four more local organisations on successful applications to the Stronger Communities Programme.
Mr Neumann said the continued investment into infrastructure was vital for community organisations to continue to thrive.
“Projects like $10,000 for the Lowood Show Society to build a toilet block will ensure the Somerset Region continues to attract campers and stallholders each year.
“Whitehill Church of Christ provides invaluable support to the community, and the $10,000 grant for the upgrade of their kitchen will allow them continue to host community groups and provide food hampers.
“With a $13,710 grant for facilities upgrades, Moreton Region Youth Association are able to commence further programs which will provide apprenticeship training opportunities to our region’s youth,” Mr Neumann said.
The Rosewood Bowls Club were granted $5,000 to provide secure fencing along a busy stretch of road for enhanced safety and security.
All four organisations were invited by the independent Blair committee to make a formal application, with Mr Neumann’s support.
The program, in its fourth round, provides funding of up to $150,000 to local community organisations in Ipswich, the Somerset Region and the Karana Downs region to fund small capital projects that improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant viable communities.
