MEDIA RELEASE
Communities in Blair are now eligible for funding for projects that will deliver great spaces and places for our communities.
The $285.8 million South East Queensland Liveability Fund includes funding from the Albanese Government, the Palaszczuk Government and the Council of Mayors (SEQ).
$18.18 million is available to Ipswich City Council, and $1.66 million for Somerset Regional Council to deliver projects that will help build healthier, liveable and connected communities.
That includes new parks and projects that promote health and wellbeing, as well as community infrastructure that complements new housing supply or urban renewal.
Councils can also apply for funding for regional sporting and recreation facilities to drive engagement in local sport in the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The fund also covers projects that meet the program’s wider vision to support local businesses, jobs and maximise opportunities for First Nations people.
The SEQ Liveability Fund is part of the South East Queensland City Deal.
