The Federal Member for Blair, Shayne Neumann, has welcomed men’s sheds in the Somerset Region sharing in Federal funding.
Round 20 of the National Shed Development programme provided men’s sheds with the opportunity to apply for funding to support the purchase of tools, equipment, community projects, training, building maintenance and development and health improvement activities.
Mr Neumann said the Toogoolawah Men’s Shed will receive a $3700 grant for tools and equipment and the Somerset Men’s Shed $1606 for installing air conditioning.
“These types of small grant programs are invaluable to small community organisations to get projects actually off the ground,” he said.
“Men’s sheds all over the Somerset Region do fantastic work supporting people in our community which is important in the uncertain times we are facing,” Mr Neumann said.
In rural Ipswich, the Rosewood Men’s shed received $3630 through the program.
